Travel Teams--Big Time updated Sept 2009 email BIGTIME Volleyball Teams are made up of 9-12 players from different schools who want to play at the highest level of competition and get maximum exposure to college recruiters. Age groups and complementary position players determine the teams. Travel teams will practice at a central location once or twice a week depending on the coach and availability. The coach for each team will be at least IMPACT certified and have passed background checks. The season will run from December through Regionals, with opportunities for further play if a team qualifies for Nationals. They will participate in 6-7 tournaments such as: National Qualifiers (Tampa, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Baltimore, LoneStar) Large out of town tourneys (Houston, Oklahoma, Austin, Louisiana) At least 2 Local Power League(Ranking) Tourneys (Various by years) ( Valentine, Spring Fling, Texas Fest, NT Challenge, NT Invitational) North Texas Regionals Fundraisers are available for teams and individuals to help with the cost. Travel Team Player Dues: $1800--$3200 Dues include: 2 jerseys, 2 shorts, 2 pair socks, warm-up top and bottom, score clinic, kneepads, equipment bag. Each player will get a special named section of the website for individual videos for college recruiters and others to view. Shoes and socks will be available at a low cost thru the club. As
teams are formed, you will be notified and a team meeting will be announced.
At the team meeting, some time at the beginning of December, coaches and
practice information will be announced. Uniform
sizes and numbers will be taken along with leftover registration information. Practices
are held and tournament times and dates are decided. By end of January, ref and score clinics are completed.
BIGTIME teams are Cooperative as to
allow players to participate in other extra-curricular activities during the
club season. Check with your school coach to see if information has been received.
